Thank you for that explanation Huw. From what you say it would seem that any and all weapons are 'allowed' provided that they destroy infrastructure as well as people. However, if they destroy only (only?!) people then that is not playing by the 'rules'. Is that the logic (logic????) of all this?

Are nuclear weapons classified as chemical weapons? If not, then does it mean it's okay to use them ?

Can someone explain why the reason we are likely to get involved in the Syrian conflict is because of the alleged use of chemical weapons. Why, because of chemical weapons? What makes the use of them so different from the use of other types of weapons when the outcome for those on the receiving end is exactly the same.

How much rain was there here today? When I left this morning it was dry. Been to Bristol and back - no rain. But it is wet here and my garden looks as though it has had a good watering.

Just come back from the town. It is positively heaving with people and all high areas (Lea Mount, Sandy Lane Playing Fields, hill by The Smugglers) also full of people. Will be watching from the front and back windows of my house. Perfect weather for an air display. Must go now - Red Arrows have probably just taken off from Exeter Airport and due to arrive here shortly.

Well.......it looks as though the penny has dropped amongst Lib Dem grass roots activists (as opposed to their coalition line whipped MPs?) that the bedroom tax policy is highly flawed. Of course there is also the small matter of a general election coming up in just under two years time and they are presumably getting the message that they (the LDs) ain't too popular with quite a few who voted ...

Just thought I'd draw attention to these job vacancies. The first ones are for cabin crew based in other parts of the country but if you scroll down you will come to the Exeter based non cabin crew ones. Seems like Flybe are recruiting once again so might be an idea to keep checking their website if you are looking for a job. Note the deadlines for the Exeter based jobs - tight! (sorry, only just ...

Re rural communities. When this policy was first put forward it was pointed out by the government themselves that it would have the greatest negative effect in rural areas. Those in the (social) housing profession also pointed out the negative effects both in rural areas and in urban ones. By definition a rural area doesn't have much housing (of any kind). Therefore there won't be much, if ...

Here's hoping all those awaiting the results get the grades they need to do whatever it is they are (A Level results allowing) planning to do.
