@Lynne You can put out warnings like this until kingdom come but people will still fall victim to scams. How many times have we heard stories like this on the TV news, radio, newspapers, yet people still give details to strangers on the phone? I have had bona fide calls from my bank but I still refuse to give any details to them and I have complained bitterly to them for doing so, as ...
@ Stephen 15 I was wondering the same.
@ The Observer All very well but who exactly benefits from this 'much needed income' that the fair brings in? Certainly not the residents. OK, the shopkeepers benefit greatly but how many of them make a contribution to the upkeep of the lawn after raking in profits from it? It would be nice if they did.

Does she drive a car I wonder?
Still not any comments (apart from Paul's) on the carnival itself .
A report for Chip ahoy. Chips were not very good, soft and not a nice golden brown but a dirty white colour. Fish batter was like soggy cardboard and fish was dry. Very disappointed indeed.

@ FB We moan because we have seen better, before it became the Farley/Rowland ego trip. There used to be something going on on the lawn non stop. The westcountry TV bus used to be on the lawn, where you could meet some of the presenters. The Marines used to come and demonstrate unarmed combat, plus many other events that are far too many to mention. Yes Fred, go back a few years ...
At least the weather will be clearing up later for the Grand Procession. John Nash Drive will be 2 abreast with floats from visiting royalty and pubs and clubs from miles around. The biggest and best procession beckons.
