Can anyone explain why hundreds of dead crabs, bagged up on deck, are just left to rot? I know that these crabs would sell for £5 and up at the fish shop in Newton Abbot. It just seems such a waste to have caught them and then leave them to rot. It was the worst fishy smell I have ever experienced from the quay.

@Carer - sigh! I wasn't aware that people outside of Dawlish could not view and interact with this web site Carer. I thankyou for

your blinding wisdom in this matter.

Judas H Priest.

This is why I only look at this site sparingly.

Someone asked about crabs then insullts happen.

I think the crabs are used in lobster and other pots which is why they are left.

The more 'stinky' the better when used as bait.

@HuwMatthews2 - many thanks for the info, seeing as i have seen the boat with lobster/crab pots on board it explains why.
