Last night's warning was at the third level of alert, so flooding was not a high likelihood. Nether the less, a warning had been issued and it would have been unconscienceable not to pass it on. So, my hunch is that in this case the dredging wasn't the key factor, but that's just my common sense assumption. I haven't seen any official assessment.
