I think you could possibly be right about them becoming white elephants. They won't be hugely busy in the winter, but they aren't interested in individual shops just group profits and having a shop everywhere!
@ J Warrener, that made me snigger. I have a friend who told me that to deter the JW's I should welcome them in with 'Come in, come in, we're just about to sacrifice the goat!' I never had the bottle and can't be rude to them, not in my nature but I like the idea that one day I just may don a bloody apron and go to the door with a knife and sharpener in hand.....
Just a thought - now that Ladys Mile have got their permission to have extra pitches does that then mean that loss of holiday accommodation can't be a reason for refusal to Tesco's? Any thoughts?
Remove housing benefit and six members of my immediate family would be homeless! I haven't got room to house them, mind you I could fit the grandchildren in my shed, they're still small. Seriously though, the housing benefit is the only alternative to providing enough social/council housing. The biggest mistake ever made (in my opinion) was not allowing the moneyreceived from the sale of council ...
So what do we think then, is this election going to be only about local issues? Are poeple going to use this opportunity to tell their sitting candidates that they don't want them any more? Central ward - 6 seats, more candidates for this ward; 5 Lib ...
Ah but Fronteraman is surely not his given name at birth? He/she could be standing under his/her real name!! Mind you I'd have loved to see Fronteraman on my ballot slip....

Lazlo - having once had a business in Dawlish that employed local people I'd just like to point out that I couldn't afford to pay more than minium wage. I was taking less for myself than that! If you're not making the money you can't pay it out, it's that simple. Holidaymakers come to Dawlish (and other places too) expecting a cheap holiday and won't pay premium prices, when they've paid a tenner ...
