A similar thought went through my mind but along the lines of if those who live along the road in Starcross/Kenton have private drives/off road parking what's to stop them allowing cars to pick up and drop off on their private property? Might appeal to those with an entrepreneurial eye (if they wanted to charge) or those who wouldn't charge but would just do it as an 'up yours' gesture to ...
This Appeal was on the Agenda at last week's Dawlish Town Council planning committee meeting where it was Resolved that: "Secmaton Lane must not be used for any construction traffic or any access to new houses".
The town council's planning committee have recommended refusal of this request as they are not supportive of any Affordable Housing reduction below 25%.
@Taverner . I think you are referring to the Voices for Dawlish councillors who were in office 2011 -2015. I seem to remember a letter in the Dawlish Gazette shortly after they were elected from an ex Lib Dem councillor having a pop at them (or some of them) claiming that they were really Labour people. I have no idea if that is or was true. But I do know that I wrote a letter in response ...
