Mister Man, You may find it interesting to strike up a conversation with Roy(late of this forum). By my calculation, he is also 42. If not the answer to life, the universe etc., he certainly always had it. He will be 43 in the next few weeks. friv. Don

My apologies. Rare though it is, as you say, the word does exist. I was just being catty although I thought you had hit the "u" by mistake. Serves me right!! Don

Local Democracy

The 2007 Town Council elections for Dawlish South West and Dawlish Central were uncontested, resulting in all of those who stood being elected without a single vote being cast for them. Among the beneficiaries were the current mayor, Geoff Wills, his predecessor, Wallie Protheroe, and the mayor prior to that, Rosalind Prowse. In my experience, when people use the expression "that's an undisputable fact," they is usually wrong on two counts: The fact that they state is not a fact but an assertion. It is disputed, normally widely so. In this case I can add a third count. The word is "indisputable". Iis OK to call me a loon but I think "publicity hungry" and "very vocal" a little unfair. Don

There is an EU road hump mountain. We in the UK have a quota of humps that must be installed to reduce the surplus. Some other countries may not take their treaty obligations as seriously as we do. We should just accept that the authorities know what's best for us. frivolously, Don
