The 2007 Town Council elections for Dawlish South West and Dawlish Central were uncontested, resulting in all of those who stood being elected without a single vote being cast for them. Among the beneficiaries were the current mayor, Geoff Wills, his predecessor, Wallie Protheroe, and the mayor prior to that, Rosalind Prowse. Mr. Wills might do well to consider that the popular mandate for his serving on the council involved no voters at all.
