Went to get fresh fruit and veg on New Years Eve and the only fruit and veg shop in Dawlish was shut. Yeah, you can relly get what you need locally can't you? NOT! Half the shops in this town only last 6 months anyway unless they're a charity shop or an estate agent. Crap.
Seems to me more people are concerned about a supermarket than about real issues like having a replacement play park for children

I have already written a letter to the town council (for all the good that will do). The new playpark SHOULD be on the lawn. Boomerang, it's not about keeping the kids out of sight with a fence, it's about keeping them safe. Least then if anyone WAS run over on the Strand or Brunswick Place the town council couldn't be held accountable for it if they had provided an enclosed space for the children ...
The plot between the bowling green and the bandstand has been a wasted space for years! Also putting the new playground within range of the CCTV cameras will stop the little toe-rag(s) from reducing it to cinders again. The Manor may be a safe place to play in the day but as already pointed there is little or no lighting in the evenings. There may be a road either side but if the little darlings ...
Yes I agree it would be nice to forget the big stuff for one year and just have traditionl fun but I can't see that happening. As for donations made to local charities I can't see that either as I believe it being a entertainment organization which means money raised should be spent on entertaining the public.
