There has been a playground in the Manor for years, why change it.
If one goes between the bowling green and bandstand it will disturb the men and women playing bowls, why should people have their recreation spoilt by noisy disruptive children.
If they rebuild one at the Manor at least the little so and so will be able to shout and scream as much as they like and the bowling club left in peace

Olive bet you have lived in good old Dawlish all your life. Change has got to happen for this town to survive and encouraging kids to be part of a happy poulace is a good thing.
If we not careful Dawlish will carry on having an ever increasing old population and the youth will move on.
Who then will work in the care, nursing homes or as home helps etc

Its such an easy solution.

The bowling green, an amenity for 0.1% of the town, should be moved to the Manor Grounds.

The plot can be used for a play ground.

You've had the plot for years old folk, and its never too late to learn, so how about learning a whole new word:-

SHARING.

Move aside; you selfish old c**ts.

When anyone stoops to that level of language, the point is lost. I assume you are not going to get old.

Have those who want a playground for children in the lawn even thought about their safety having a busy road on both sides of the lawn. I think not.

Dont worry, there is no chance of a play area there, it was best at The Manor.

Oh here we go, concerned, concerned parent and OLIVE, lets start at the start then the manor, yes a good playground site and we should have a smal playground there, but child safety! the manor i think not, dark, no lighting and can seem isolated, next the two busy roads either side of the lawn, if your that concerned then get the traffic slowed down with or without a plaground, or are you really not that concerned. And as for the bowlers are you all stupid, young people and young kids, yes we can say kids, play bowls or are you all so short sited that you can see the WOODS for the trees. Bowlers are behind this porject not agaist it, its safer for your kids to be seen and heard is'nt it

The plot between the bowling green and the bandstand has been a wasted space for years! Also putting the new playground within range of the CCTV cameras will stop the little toe-rag(s) from reducing it to cinders again. The Manor may be a safe place to play in the day but as already pointed there is little or no lighting in the evenings. There may be a road either side but if the little darlings are supervised (like they should be) then this will stop them running onto the busy road- or may I suggest electrified fencing??! :p

Has anyone on this forum thought about the danger you are putting your children in. Do you realise that there are a number of pedophiles living in our town and you think giving them another "shop window" is a good idea ?. Right in the centre of town. Oh, you think there are not any in Dawlish ?.

I am sure most parents would agree that the manor is more secluded than the lawn! the lawn is a perfect place for the playground in sight of everyone not many hiding places where as the manor has many a hiding place for children to be pinched quickly why dont we all get together and start trying to make the playground on the lawn happen i'd help!

I have already written a letter to the town council (for all the good that will do). The new playpark SHOULD be on the lawn. Boomerang, it's not about keeping the kids out of sight with a fence, it's about keeping them safe. Least then if anyone WAS run over on the Strand or Brunswick Place the town council couldn't be held accountable for it if they had provided an enclosed space for the children to play safely.

I am afraid you just cannot rely on what the council say. I never used to be like this but after all the false promises regarding a skate facility and believe me there have been loads, I don't hold much hope for you're park at the Lawn.
