why close the toilets in Shaldon toilets after the the vanity project of the newton abbot pedestrian walk way. Better still get rid of our  useless M.P. Martin Wrigley. After all the tiolets are more beneficial to the public than  wrigley will ever be.

An architect accidentally captured the moment a pod of dolphins were playing in the water while getting to grips with a new drone in Devon. He was practicing with the new gadget off the coast at Dawlish when he captured a pod of dolphins leaping out of the water.

Mentioned on the other thread about this pub - it has been referred to as an 'uninsurable event'. Some might call it  'an act of God'. Both of which seems a load of BS as the pub was just neglected over a long period of time and the issue was well known. And yeah, bizarre how a pub is seen as a 'community asset', whereas public toilets are not.

Good luck to them in such difficult circumstances.

Surely this was insured by either the owner or the brewery that owned it. Cant see how the council can help as they say thsy cannot even afford  to keep public toilets open.

The pub wasn't wrecked in one solitary bad weather event. It fell into disrepair through long-term neglect resulting in a massive crack. "Before the wall collapsed a large crack, visible from the outside , had been investigated. A build-up of water may have penetrated the crevice and destabilised the cob construction."
