There is no furore. All it is is that there are few people who are unhappy about this, and it's the same old people who are always unhappy about everything that's ever proposed to improve Dawlish.

Is there anywhere in Devon where there is a marina the size of, and with the facilities of (ie shops, restaurants, cinemas) along the lines of Port Solent and Brighton Marina? https://www.portsolent.com/ http://www.brightonmarina.co.uk/

The famous black swans in Dawlish cannot stop breeding as there are yet more swans on the way. See more... http://www.devonlive.com/news/devon-news/more-famous-black-swans-way-421506

Proposals for a harbour have been put forward the idea was to extend the sea wall at boat cove and have summer moorings folk with boats have money was the thinking the idea never got past the drawing board.

This is well-known behaviour on the part of pied wagtails and also other small birds. They believe that there is safety in numbers and so roost together to foil hawks and owls and other predators. You can see them in trees in town centres like Torquay and cities such as Exeter where they also have the benefit of it being a few degrees warmer than the countryside.

For many years (and this may interest twitchers) I have watched Pied Wagtails do something I did not know about. When it is time for them to go to bed, they fly close into their roosting site many at a time, sometimes I have seen upto about thirty. They then fly into a tree abit closer to where they sleep, about five or six at a time and then with a cheep from one of them, they bury ...
