The play park on The Lawn fiasco needs investigating by an independant body so that the ethics involved in this shambles can be made clear to the residents of Dawlish. It is not the first time a large amount of money has been spent before the Dawlish residents were informed what was actually being formulated i.e. The Manor House, The Termite - in my opinion. written without prejudice, ...

Very sad. Message on the site for those without Facebook - Sad news: Unfortunately we have lost the female black swan that was nesting up near old post office, dad is well and pining on the nest. At this time we do not know what the cause of her death is. The eggs she was sitting on have been collected and taken in to the duck hut. We have checked them all and all seem to show signs of life, ...

If you look at Dawlish Waterfowl on Facebook it does give a short update, yes she died but it doesn't mention how, but it does say that they are continuing the incubation

I don't really need to jump in here, but I'm with leatash, majorp and vicks here.  Excellent service from both Barton Surgery and Torbay Hospital. The behaviour of the receptionists at the Surgery has improved no end in the 17 years I've been here.  Maybe I've just been lucky ? I have heard (Don't know if there is any truth in it) that one of the black swans nesting opposite the Monkey House, was found dead with a broken neck. No feathers to give any indication of how it happened. Is there any truth in it? After all, they were brooding 7 seven eggs.

An iconic and historic beach kiosk on Dawlish seafront has been demolished. The kiosk had managed to survive the famous storm of 2014 that destroyed the railway line and devastated the area, but had been redundant for a while and had not been used for over a year.
