The crazy golf facility is an income generator for TDC so I would say the likliehood of the crazy golf area being given up by TDC for a non income generating play park is about ........zilch. There is presently a planning app in for redevelopment of the crazy golf area by a private operator. They will lease the area from TDC. http://www.dawlish.com/thread/details/45762

Maybe Mr Dale has, but outside his home, and with private vehicles, highly unlikely on that one. It's dangerous, you can not see what or who is behind it.

what makes everyone think that a playpark will boost the trade in the town, as @Margaret Swift quite rightfully as said, your not going to leave the children unattened and go for your weekly shop now are you! it makes no sense that shop keepers feel that a playpark will increase thier income. what about the sheer amount of anti-social behaviour that goes with playparks, drunks at night, the ...

Have been told that latest proposals for the playpark will be in this coming Weds Gazette and will also be on the town council's website sometime soon.

The beach was busy, the town was humming. I expect quite a lot got spent in the town yesterday.  Up by Coryton Cove where the rock pools were exposed, the kids were having a great time with their ...

@majorp "I wonder if that explains the ulteriour motive why a buisiness person of the town is motivated to get more people up his end of the lawn. Makes sense if you were lacking in something that you wanted a piece of". Are you implying that all those people attending the play park from miles around will be buying property in Dawlish?

I did not say that the town centre shops should give up the ghost. Stop putting words in my mouth. I made a statement about what I believe are present day shopping habits. If my statement has some truth to it (which I believe it has) then town centre shops need to adapt to what the market (ie consumers) are telling them. Market forces and all that. It seems that some believe that having a ...

People will come to Dawlish to see the brook, ducks and swans and sit on the lawn, regardless if there was a play park there or not. What makes people think that more people will be attracted in their droves from surrounding areas to take their kids to a play park? When I was a nipper and went to a resort, I wanted to play on the beach and not sit in a play park.

Excuse me Margaret Swift. There is nothing nasty in my post. All totally factual - try reading it again in the morning.
