So having a £260k mini playpark on The Lawn is going to significantly boost trade for the retailers. Parents are going to flock to Dawlish for this mini miracle. Perhaps someone could write to network rail on a personal level, and ask NR why they do not like the idea of putting seating along the sea wall at various locations.

The Council have continued to try and have more seating along the wall, and each time Network Rail and have turned it away, even when the Council have offered to pay for and maintain it.

Can we be clear on the whole situation, who will benefit and who in someway or another will be affected by the proprosal going ahead, here are my views, being realistic: For: Children will have a larger area to play within, well under 10's anyway. Adults will have a "safe" place to take thier children to play. Agaisnt: I don't personaly feel it will boost trade in the town ...

I totally agree with 1263. I only half agree with majorp.

An update on the outdoor gym equipment idea. I did make enquiries about this but got told that this could not happen as SANGS are not allowed to be built on. (therefore no children's play equipment either). That's absolutely fine by me not least because having children's and/or adults' play equipment there might prove to be the slippery start to even more development of other kinds sometime ...

I have just visited this park for my first time. All I can say is that it is so lovely, and marvellous to see how so many other people were enjoying it so much too, most of them with their lovely dogs. How anyone can find anything to moan about this facility is beyond my comprehension. Perhaps they should be left to wallow in their own misery, where they are most happy!!!
