Network Rail, who own the sea wall, are very reluctant to put seating along it. Sadly. And not through the lack of trying by past and present town councillors.
@“burneside” The Dawlish public also has form for wanting to change the Lawn.
If you want to attract more visitors to Dawlish have some seating along the sea wall. It's appalling not to have any. And we can't compete with Teignmouth it is a completely different town, with a long promenade, a pier the Pavilions, I could go on. Concentrate on what we have.
@"Diana Mond" - Who said ex-Councillors are not allowed an opinion about Dawlish? I'm merely pointing out this particular ex-Councillor has form for wanting to change the lawn. @The Observer - the ex-Councillor is Robert Vickery.
I just thought I'd have a look at the petition for the playpark and scrolled down to have a look at the comments. One of them was this; I launched the proposals as a Town Councillor in 2013/4/5 Robert V. a day ago
Who is the ex-councillor? and of course everyones allowed an opinion, I'm agaisnt it, not a crime I hope. Like I've said multiple times, I'm not entirely agaisnt it on the whole, but I'm agaisnt where they propose to put it.
Ex-councillors not being allowed to have an opinion about Dawlish? That would be ironic wouldn’t it?
What is it with the need for everyone to be swearing all over this site @webmaster - I really think the beach needs to be concentrated on and I'm sure somehow more could be made of the railway attraction it brings.
I hear that an ex-Councillor who was involved in a previous attempt to alter the Lawn is strongly supporting the proposed play park too. Some things never change.
Won't be long before we have a Citreon Diana
