This is the second day in a row that someone has allowed their large dog (you can tell by the size of the defecation) foul the walkway near the happy hut at the Lawn - a mere couple of feet from the trash bin. To burneside: When I awoke on Nov 9, 2016, that was my first thought upon hearing the awful news!

I was under the impression that the police had identified the dog owner and had gone to his home. If that's wrong, please post it. The dog needs to be put down, the owner fined the amount to replace the swan and banned from having dogs in the future.

To Lynne: I wrongly, it seems, thought that the Council was involved in determining what businesses open on The Strand. Mea culpa. It should have been the Planning Commission, I guess. So replace that with my naming the Council in my post - the concept is the same. We now have 9-soon-to-be-10 cafes, 4 barber shops and how many charity shops on the street. They don't need people to give them food because they steal it from the Co-op. They are only looking for drugs and alcohol.

Is there any news on the loss of the latest swan due to the staffy attack? Has the owner been arrested/fined? Has the dog been put down?
