Just spent Friday to Monday in Dawlish. Council were busy painting everything green and the lean-to shelter over the seats halfway up Lea Mount has been re-newed, although I've never seen anyone resting there. All our visits (approx 18)have been at the Blenheim on the corner of Marine Parade.Their 2 balcony rooms for the summer months are often booked up more than 12 months in advance! B & B or self catering. Ideal for 2 persons. Try their website for more info. Recommended.

As the only person in the UK that uses this forum and holidays in Dawlish, I would like to mention that we are visiting in late April. Should be great, as hopefully we will be the only visitors wandering around the town and on the beach. The residents probably won't have surfaced after the winter either. You will know who we are as we wander about in our summer clothes! See you all soon.

This section is still lost and forgotten!!! I see Mr.Webmaster deleted the similar comment I made in my last posting! Anyway, everytime I visit I seek out the brown tabby cat that is nearly always asleep in a small alley off the Strand. Seems to have been around for years. Do any locals know its name or its age? Lovely week, last week in Dawlish.I've always thought September is a good time to visit. Did get cut up at traffic lights in Torquay by taxi driver - foolhardy driving - but it was a taxi driver after all. Also got ignored by Starcross-Exmouth ferry whilst being the only two waiting to return at Exmouth dock. No apology was forthcoming from the ferrymen when (an hour later) I asked why we were ...
