A man from the Newton Abbot area has been charged with two offences of assaulting a police officer and one of public order. The incident occurred in a Dawlish pub on Tuesday. David Williams will appear before South Devon magistrates on Tuesday, June 24th.

Tesco has confirmed it has dropped its controversial plans to build a store at Sandy Lane, Dawlish. The land at Sandy Lane which is used by Dawlish Town Football Club is no longer a consideration. The company has said it will be unveiling plans for a store at another site within the next few weeks.

Dawlish is to have a open air ice rink for the three day May Day bank holiday from 3rd to 5th of May. The town council chipped in £1,000 towards the hire charge.
