People jump to conclusions for many reasons. The Jetty has nothing to do with the council or any council, it is the responsibility of the enviroment agency. In case you wish to know? The sea wall is under pinned by network rail as is the bridge connecting both sides of Dawlish railway station. The station both sides belong to First Great Western, for the duration of the franchise.

I could not agree more with the comments made on the opening page. I would also like to add. Why do the planning authority permit so many structural alterations to valuable properties? There is a housing stock of every description, from bedsits and flats to five and six bedroom houses, why is it necessary to demolish a bungalow and then build a house in it's place? Why can they not just go and buy ...
