At the Exeter Road end of Port Road opp St Mary's cottages is the Dawlish Gardens Trust. I think they are a learning centre for special needs people, but they certainly grow a lot of stuff, not sure if they still sell it locally, but they used to before they moved from Warren rd. The boss is called Ian I think
@Fotterson - cannot blame you for feeling the way you do about dawlish as many of the locals feel exactly the same. One of the biggest problems is that to few people have to many vested intrests and think they own the place, so long as they are making money out of the local area nothing else matters. We also have a three tiered local government system which goes along with the most stupid ideas ...
I think you may be right the old petrol station and auction house seem to be one and the same lets just see how things go and wish both ventures the best of luck for the new year and for gods sake stop moaning
Here we go again. A new venture in town trying to make a good use of an empty and unused town centre building and what do you lot do. Start moaning and groaning about Lorries, Parking and traffic congestion. Just what the hell do you want for this town ? If you want total hassel free peace and quiet whilst you wait for God, why not buy a bed up Barton hospital and die in it.
Same from me - happy new year everyone -
Dont forget also that cars are an expensive thing to repair these days so they or their parents if under 18 should also have to pay to repair the damage they have caused. Might make them think twice next time
Looks like a Christmas dinner practice gone wrong or maybe its been a Voices for Dawlish committee meeting. scary pic though
The answer given at a recent meeting of traders by Clatworthy's con men, is that it can take upto 3 months for them to vary the on street parking arrangements. This is all well and good but dosen't seem to apply to putting the prices up only reducing them. Write to Councillor Clatworthy directly to complain but dont expect anything to change, because he dosen't really care. One other route to ...
Take it from one who knows there is no simple answer, the whole industry is just a total con. The government will not attempt to regulate it because 86% of the price you pay at the pump goes straight to them in duty. You need to compare like with like here as there is no way your local indepedant has the same buying agreement as Sainsbury's. Compare Sainsbury Alphington with Dawlish and you ...
