Amosite, there's a job with your name on it at the Tourist Board. You say that, "1000 is nothing" in terms of additional visitors (my guess out of 14,000 attendees per day). I think you should try telling that to local businesses - better still get down to David Force's next Chamber of Trade meeting at the Brunny, because I'm sure they could do with some of your pearls of wisdom...
But this wasn't the thread to make cheap political points. A lot of people are quite rightly very upset about what's happened with the cygnets (although it's noticeable that neither of you two have bothered to write anything along those lines), and in my opinion it was highly inappropriate of you to hijack the thread. Having been away for the weekend, I'm extremely saddened to read this news. We've been closely following the progress of the three cygnets from birth, taking many photo's of them, so much so that they feel like a part of the family.
