Judith, I can answer your question. We will know by mid-July if we have got through the first hurdle. If we have, we then have to submit even more detailed plans by October. The final outcome will be announced in February 2015. If DTC are successful at that stage then work has to commence by September 2015 and be completed by the summer of 2016. To ensure the Town Council present an unbiased view then people also need to make sure they view the planning application for the Cultual Arts Pavillion submitted to Teignbridge Council as this then provides a rounded picture of the scale of the proposed Pavillion. PS Mrs C, everyone knows who I am therefore I don't need to use the title of Councillor, just as Michael Clayson and Bob Vickery don't need to use their title of Councillor. However, at least I do use my full name and do not hide behind anonymity.
There would have been consultation but it would have been rushed through before people fully realised what was happening and had time to really appreciate the full impact of the proposals.
For the record Councillor Vickery, I DID vote for the funding in April and I DID vote for the scheme on May 14th. I voted for the scheme on May 14th because Councillors were reassured that if the people of Dawlish voted not to have a large arts pavillion built on their lawn then the scheme would be modified. The basis might be based on consultations 10 years ago and isn't that the very point? They are hopelessly out of date! And isn't it a fact that the notion of an arts pavillion has twice been deemed as a flawed concept and thrown out at the Yellow Book stage and at a later stage so why suddenly is it a viable proposition now? As a point of accuracy, all town Councillors are available to be on hand for the consultation period, that includes those who are promoting the proposal and those of us who remain neutral and would prefer the people of Dawlish to decide what is built (or not built) on the lawn.
