Great, so the next shop to close on the Strand will be the opticians, who, in my experience, are very, very good. Shame our beautiful little town seems to have the self destruct button permanently activiated!
I thought the road tax (or whatever you like to call it) was no longer based on emissions, certainly not for new cars since last year! Clearly the government weren’t raking in enough money with that scheme and it has now reverted to the previous scheme. Low emission cars no longer pay £20 but now pay £170, none of which will go to pay for filling in the pot holes!

@Lynne , i read Bob Vickery’s letter and he is wrong, the survey did not produce a result in favour of a playpark next to the bowling green. the results were not clear cut at all, which is why a referendum on the issue is required.
Completely agree Flo, it was a great night at the Cove and I hope there will be many more. The cafe has brought the Cove back to life and it’s lovely going down there. Some people will moan whatever is put on!
I believe the project which the GWR money covers has to be completed by the end of next March.
Berry Head has charged for car parking for as long as I have been going there and that is at least 10 years.

A referendum is required to determine once and for all whether the people of Dawlish want a Playpark in the vicinity of the lawn area or not. Dawlish Town Council has been awarded £19,212 for Dawlish Playpark. To install a new Playpark in Dawlish, which will include a train in GWR colours. The grant has come from GWRs Customer and Community Improvement Fund.
