Remember the public survey done a few months back? (there is a thread on this website about it). Well now there have been some meetings and workshops as well and a Steering Group has been set up to help progress this matter on behalf of us, the citizens of Dawlish. This matters because it concerns the future of Dawlish. This link may be of interest - as is the video to be found on it. ...
But whether or not they should be charged is surely just an academic question for as long as there is no where for them to securely leave their bikes.
yes I appreciate they could do that but I don't doubt for one moment that whoever it is who owns that fence would object.
When the soon to be completed Cockwood to Dawlish cyclepath is open bringing with it the hoped for influx of cyclists (and thus trade) to the town, will the cyclists be made to feel welcome? Like er..........sufficient places for them to secure their cycles? I ask because the last time I looked (like a few days ago) there were but three or so bike racks in the train station car park (by the ticket ...
@Nyanko As I don't live in the town centre I can't comment on what the parking is like (although I can imagine!). However, I do know that out here in suburbia cars start parking up quite early in the day of the airshow and consequently it's not very long before on street parking places become difficult to find. Would suggest therefore that you don't use your car that day unless you know someone ...

They also do a nice line in deli goods and when I was in there earlier today they were also selling very nice breads and rolls. More expensive than you'd normally pay for bread and rolls I admit but very nice as a treat and a change. Anyone anymore (serious please) ...
Although we don't go to the chippy that often when we do it is to the Model chip shop in Queen Street. We've never encountered any brusque or rude service. In fact, of the three chippies (I can only think of the three) in the town the Model is the one we would recommend.
I've no idea about the prices as I didn't buy anything. Will be able to make a comparison when we do our 'big shop' later today. How many locals did you hear from? Were you outside the doing a survey?
I'd guess about a mile.
Okay, I'll fess up. I couldn't resist it. I did go along to S'bury's late this morning. Lovely day so decided to take a walk. Visons of the Co-op - there were queues at the checkouts! Though to be fair that's because they were very busy. Tell you what though - the town centre shops won't know what's hit 'em. Which means that getting the future of The Strand (to pedestrianise or not to ...
