General Discussion

Completely agree J3.  All these expensive facilities get built and then no-one uses them or can afford to use them.  I think a lot of parents thought we'd be getting more out of Red Rock than we do.  I'm not quite sure how they justify £21 per hour for the astroturf.

Out of interest where does the stream go on the Secmaton Lane side?

Strand Works
24 Feb 2013

Dawlish hasn't got the greatest access to the shops for disabled people.  My father only lives a 'normal' 10 minute walk from the town centre but we can't get the manual wheelchair down past Leroys (as it was) due to the narrow pavements and hill.  Going along the high street you still have to negotiate Queen's Street.   Parking outside the shops is the only way we can do it but without a blue ...

Happidogs Complete Care In May we will have a job vacancy employed for 16 hours a week although more hours can be worked. It is for a dog carer, which is looking after a dog in your own home, also walking dogs, taking a dog for day care while people work. You will also work closely with me and help with other dog related work. You must have the property to suit with a secure garden. You ...

Did free milk really end in 1971?  Why can I remember having milk at primary school then? I can remember the glass bottles with a foil top (they had different pictures on the top) and I can remember them warming next to the radiator! Never had school meals nyself and I could never persuade my kids to eat at school either!

Shop Move
15 Feb 2013

Have you actually read what SA wrote Brooklyn Bridge rather than being snide?  Employees of a charity are not confined to those in the shop.  SA made it quite clear that those in the shop are often volunteers.  You only have to look at the local job adverts to see that lots of charities employ people.  Perhaps if the government actually funded a decent amount of research and support many of these ...

Thought the selection and quality of meat was better than Sainsburys.  Lots of veg I don't know what to do with(!).  It's nice to have a choice and nice for people in Teignmouth to have somewhere other than Co-op to shop in.

Andy, I struggled to find it too, you're not being thick!  Hover over the bottom of the message of the person you want to contact, where agree/report is and there is a message option too.

Groundhog Day
3 Feb 2013

@Lynne , in that case it's groundhog day every day for me!

I think you'll find local labourers/builders are travelling quite a way to get work that lasts more than a day here and there.  They commit themselves to this type of work for obvious reasons which means fewer people are available locally.
