I had friends visit Dawlish today and we had a lovely day in town, by the river, sea and shops and a lovely cream tea! Called in at 'Presents' in The Strand..very impressed with the variety of gifts at reasonable prices, cards and of course lovely Thorntons Ice Cream... BUT ..when we went to pay for some gifts we were greeted by a very sour and unfriendly member of staff with long blonde hair, ...
007 I agree. Would help if you sign a form when you take a job saying... 'I understand if I strike / refuse to work I may have my employment terrminated' ...simple ..plenty want a job!
Wouldn't you think people would learn from history. A strike has never been a gain to anyone..seems to be always jumped up Unions leaders in their 20's that push for them...of course they know no better and the sheep follow! Can you imagine self employed people and small business /shops going on strike coz you dont have enough money coming in lol.
007 ..Tesco are already in Dawlish... they own One Stop.. Settle down now Sainsburys will open soon and I cant see why Dawlish should be the only town in the country with no big store...other towns survive, Crediton panicked when Tesco opened and they have Morrisons too, the town is doing ok because people dont stear clear of it, they have to go through the town as you do Dawlish. as for LIDL ...
Blimy do people actually pay £14 for a pizza??? I get mine for £1.15 in Asda lots of pepperoni or pineapple yum..15 mins in the oven no problem! Didnt you say anything? ..others must be happy as you only see negative posts on here!
Has to be a better way of spending £2000 a month to get a living!... based on a third profit you need to take in the till £6,000 a month.. then you can start earning!... you get tied into a lease of many years and you have to pay up even if you have no customers coming through the door.. As you say who would risk that!!!
One Stop .is TESCO ..'every little helps' they are so clever at getting money in!
Has to be one of the worst jobs there is...public are impatient and rude, other day I saw a girl totally ignore the man behind the counter as she shoved her envelope through for a stamp ...and on the phone to her mate at the same time ..flippin mobiles grrr.. Time that any shop / supermarkets can have parcel scales ..you just put the parcel on, select rate you want to send ..out pops a postage ...
Ive given lots away in response to wants on Yahoo group Recycle Exeter http://groups.yahoo.com/group/freecycle-exeter/
If Sainsburys had done their research they would have found out Dawlish has a 'negative' bug ,,as so many posts on here on almost 'everything' prove..they would not have wanted to open up. I am totally convinced people will deslike the stores for some reason or other,..staff..prices etc. ...so no need to worry. Their business will be from Starcross area and passing traffic. Mind I bet people in ...
