@DEEDOODLE If anything the BBC needs to rein in the vast executive salaries it pays. The figures in this list are mind boggling: http://www.bbc.co.uk/corporate2/insidethebbc/managementstructure/biographies/ And, of course, this is in addition to the huge salaries awarded to the "talent" which were recently made public.

That doesn't mean electors have to keep their traps shut for four years between elections.  A shot fired across the Council's bows works wonders.  Just remember the Manor House furore, and then the successful campaign to kill the "woodlouse" development on The Lawn.  Councillors do not have carte blanche to do what they like.

So change happens all the time, get used to it.

So this proposal, if enacted , will require travellers visiting a Schengen-area country to answer a few question and obtain a permit costing €5 which will be valid for three years.  That doesn't sound too onerous, and as long as it is a two-way process it will help to prevent undesirables entering the UK.  The US has long taken a stringent approach in allowing people to enter the country, nobody ...

Angela Merkel - the voice of reason?  Now that's very funny.

These would be the new cycle paths that were once pavements.  I hope the Council has got good insurance for when somebody is injured.
