@OLD FART - yes i know china has had previous empires. what i meant by my comment is that china is on its way to having an empire again. As I said - empires come, empires go.

Empires come, empires go. Empires take different forms. American imperialism for example? (now there's an irony). I think the next nation state to have an empire will be China. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empire

BoJo talks of reviving Grammar Schools. How do grammar schools decide which students to admit and which not? Is it still based on an exam/series of exams at age 11?
