Have to agree with Ziggy - the fair did take up too much of the Lawn and was too expensive for the average family. When you've got 4 kids it's a nightmare and in the end we avoided the area which was probably not what was intended by the carnival organisers. The procession was ok and the weather was kind, unlike the previous day for the airshow. Not that anyone can do anything about the weather. ...
Thanks for posting that, Lynne; it makes very interesting reading. Now we have some idea of what the council was up to!
Why has the parking in Old Town Street gone back to 30 minutes? Cllr. Clatworthy was supposed to be going to sort it out as this is a relic from when the shops were there. There are never going to be any more shops so what's the point of having the restrictions. Come on, new councillors, this is a case for you to get your teeth into.
I can't believe that they're seriously considering the Barton car park as a site for a supermarket. Just imagine 40 tonne lorries coming along the Brunswick at 2am & unloading all through the night. Not to mention depriving the town of much-needed parking spaces. We'll never get any visitors staying in the town without adequate parking facilities. One supermarket on the edge of town seems quite ...
Sounds as if it's going the way of the Teignmouth Co-op - very little fresh produce, empty shelves & staff who yak away to each other instead of concentrating on serving the customer. I blame lax management.
Now all we need is the weather to go with this 'cafe culture'. Also needed - a clean beach!
Well done Willos. As they say above, common sense prevailed. Shame on the spiteful person who originally objected. A rival perhaps?
2 black swans spotted off the coast at Teignmouth this afternoon. Does the warden know?
It is illegal to ride on the pavement if only the police would enforce it (see previous 'Police???).
Don't forget the new Thorntons in town. I understand the dentist's practice out at Shutterton could do with a few more customers anyway.
