Well I must say lots of comments and opinions on the CHAOS as that's what it is. I live on the Strand and I watch the progress through the week. Now it might be my imagination but as I observe the workers Monday through Friday there doesn't seem to be the hive of activity as one would expect, I suppose work slower in the week and then we can have OVERTIME at the weekends including Sunday's. It's ...
I have looked at these squares protruding out from the pavement. Are they going to put seating or benches in these area's. There is one of these squares outside Presents opposite the taxi office and I'm pretty sure the width of the road is rather tight for large trucks or emergency vehicles. Could this be the first part of making the Strand a pedestrian precinct ?? Outside the co-op last week they ...
Well, don't we have a mess in Dawlish? The fallen wall is still there like a beached whale causing all sorts of chaos on Teignmouth Hill. Sometimes traffic can't get up the hill because drivers who thought they had enough time to clear the wall couldn't due to traffic coming down. So the lower brook traffic comes to a standstill as Exeter Road gets backed up due to poorly timed traffic lights. ...
Hey, Brazilnut I'm going to send it to my address book friends in the USA. THEY may not get the humor but I would think it would apply to any country. The only word I think they may have trouble with is "KNACKERED" LOL............
Oh Brazilnut my Wife and I are laughing our socks of.
Is there a meeting at the Manor House tonight with the Devon and Cornwall police can anyone confirm?
The Politician Enoch Powell back in the 60s warned about the Immigration Issue for those of you who may remember. Fred Bassett speaks his mind and I for one applaud him for that, and I agree with many of his comments. All this political correctness known as (PC) has the country scared that if anyone speaks thier mind they are villified by the masses, but truth be told they all think the same.
I love the new parking idea. Spend money on a new pavement then park on it this a fantastic and great idea.
I was walking back from the library down the Strand, there were the usual cars parked along there. A huge beer truck came down to make a delivery but the driver had no choice but to double park. The Devon Council forman had to direct the traffic ONTO THE NEW PAVEMENT for vehicles to get by this truck. So i would think when all this is done there will be no parking on the Strand.
Yes i know the swans are in no danger. It has just been the anticipation over the weeks waiting for their arrival into what we perceive as a non caring world, but as i read some post's i can see there are some good caring people here. EXCEPT JOOLS88.
