I wonder what the take up of the scheme was. A huge amount of green wheelie bins were taken away this morning where I live. The bin men were ripping the wheels off, going to melt them down.

I know we were advised by South West Water not to use waste disposal units due to the state of our grey water drains.

Out of interest how are affordable houses handed over to housing associations?  Do they have to buy a block of them?  How are the associations chosen - is it a case of highest bidder wins?  There's also been a number of allegations (particularly about Cranbrook, not so sure about Dawlish) that housing associations from other parts of the country are buying up stock.  Anyone know if that's the ...

of course @Lynne .  some people think that having any objections is nimbyism.  the problem is people living in that area can see the particular problems with the way things are being planned - of course - but if they raise it, it's nimbyism.  i live near secmaton lane but not on it and can see potential problems.  as for it being the posh end of town, not sure that's the case, there are 'nice' ...

Thanks Ducki, I think 'once upon a time' probably says it all!  It's a bit like the playparks etc promised at various other sites which never happened; a fairy tale.  My conveyancing lawyer told me to never trust what the estate agents say, they can't promise anything unless it's signed, sealed and delivered (to quote Steve Wonder).  Best to buy a house with houses all round it these days I think.
