There did used to be, back in the day. But did the 'competition' they provided to MG lower prices for customers?

But there was no local choice of petrol stations for a long time before the arrival of Sainsbury. We just had MG and their rip-off prices. Sainsbury won't put up prices now that MG are off - that makes no sense seeing as they've always charged less than MG anyway!

Totally agree with Carer and Leatash. The scare stories that do the rounds every now and again re supermarket fuel have little to no basis in fact to them.

Why does doing one thing and then saying another make him sensible?

Really pleased to read that the preferred option is to place all local Minor Injury Units at Dawlish Hospital. Of course the likes of David Cox are whining about the consultation being unfair, but then losers  like him usually do.

Why would someone who stood for Dawlish Town Council as a nailed-to-the-mast Lib Dem, then state that politics should be kept out of that level of democracy?  If Gary Taylor truly believed that, as per his letter in the Gazette, then why didn't he stand for the Town Council as an Independent candidate?

Ramblings Huw? Did you not read the article and the admission by the DWP spokeswoman? " But she later admitted private firms paid by the Government to push people back into work will be able to compel disabled people to take placements or lose money." And writing "enough said" is almost as sad (and usually as incorrect) as writing "Fact" at the end of a sentence...
