I may be missing the point but to my mind the ten or so brown norwegian palms which have been in tucks plot all summer do not appear to be resting or sleeping but have in fact cocked their roots. Unless we wish to give the impression that Tucks plot is going to be developed into the dead centre of the town I suggest they be removed . The spritely green ones would then show the town is still alive ...
Lets move on and get it pedestrianised it would look great . After 12 mths everyone will wonder what all the fuss was about. Newton Abbot seems to have adopted the right design formulae.If its attractive then people will come for an all round shopping experience.
I dont care how long it takes or how much it costs = Replace the footbridge and refurbish the viaduct. Fortunately we dont need a pyramid !
