General Discussion

Burnseside have I by any chance touched a nerve? You'll never make an effective politician with such a thin skin. I now fully understand why you criticise our local councillors from a safe distance.

Occasionally, 'Battleaxes' fall upon their own swords.

I have always enjoyed reading Judith Chalmers’ posts, and have never felt the need to respond unfavourably. However, on occasions I have genuinely thought that this website has been bought into disrepute by a small number of individuals who have used it as a platform from which to make vile comments about other members. If I mention them by name they will doubtless complain to the webmaster and ...

Well said Mcjrpc.

Councillor Swift, you have frequently mentioned that you are in paid employment and as a consequence you are subject to extremely tight time restraints which preclude you from attending council meetings that are held during the day. However your post on this website dated 8th June 2014 would appear to be contradictory. 8th June 2014 ‘’Michael was very supportive of my proposal and in fact ...

Are you not able to rally the support of your fellow councillors and address this imbalance? You ...

Margaret Swift, how fortunate we are to have you as a Councillor, if only your 15 Councillor colleagues were like you. You have a lot in common with another great British warrior; Boadicea; as you doubtless know, she led a revolt against the Romans. Perhaps it would be advisable for us to look out for you on the highway, just in case you attach swords to the wheels of your car.

Margaret Swift Your last two posts on this discussion topic are contradictory and lack logic. You appear to have backed yourself into a cul-de-sac, from which it is unlikely that you will emerge with any credibility. Please stop waffling and being disrespectful about your Councillor colleagues.

A point of accuracy. I tend to agree that the concept of the banners is a good one, possibly the second generation will have less information and utilise a larger font. Those of us with exceptional eyesight, Burneside and myself included, will have noticed that the attachment rings are still firmly affixed in the banners as are the eye bolts on the lamp posts; from this I deduce that ...
