It is - I just hope they replace all the railings along King's walk too.......
Looks like we're getting a new canopy at last!
Haha, oops hadn't thought of that!
That sounds fair enough. Does anyone know - is it being repaired as it was, i.e. with the low section that is impassible at high tide, or are they beefing that bit up a bit and making it taller/thicker?

I think it was the "alterations to ground floor layout" bit, I believe they're creating new flats (including the former beer-cellar), but by "altering" the rest of the layout, they're making it suitable for a (small-ish) bar/bistro type premises which one of the (many) supporting documents says somewhere.
I see that Heavitree brewery have submitted a planning application to renovate the downstairs "bar/bistro" with additional flats above....could be just what we need, some evening life in a central location....
Sainsburys and Morrisons aren't town centre locations.....

@leatash i didn't say it was a one-off, i said it was an extremely rare combination of factors; spring tides, surge, swell and a long-lasting force 9-10 se'ly (which has a much larger fetch at dawlish than a southerly or swly) hence large wind-waves on top of it all - otherwise every high tide the sea wall would get washed away, which it hasn't. At the weekend, while I don't doubt that there ...
