36kg of rubbish collected from round Dawlish today by volunteer litterpickers … just wanted to thank them and to warn people that a lot of broken glass was found in the Newhay and Newlands playpark. Doctor attended late mother in law at 10.15 am. He rang and ordered an ambulance to urgently transport her to Dawlish hospital from Sainsburys end of town. It eventually arrived at 9.45 pm almost 12 hours. No excuses this is totally unacceptable and borders on being unfit for purpose.

Hands up all those who have heard/had personal experience of, what can only be described as horror stories about, the length of time (hours!) waiting for an ambulance to arrive, only for the patient concerned then having to wait hours in the ambulance to be able to get into the hospital (thus meaning the ambulance is not freed up to attend to someone else) and then having to wait hours to be seen ...

This is an old chestnut that gets trotted out every time when they say that they have to pay these inordinate sums to get the best people for the job. Most of the time the people they get are only after the money, not interested in taking any responsibility and are not up to the job anyway.
