I like the drycleaner very much and go in whenever I am in Dawlish. I also like Poppadums, Wee Shoppe and Lloyd Maunder's (for pies and smoked bacon), although I normally use the Teignmouth branches. I would add Deli Delicious to the list for smoked fish and for cheese. I think Dawlish and Teignmouth are better served for small specialist food shops than many other towns. Long may it last. Don
Largely because, for the last thirty years, there has been massive depletion in social housing stock as a result of its being sold off. The result has been inadequate supply for those on housing benefit without using private landlords. A ludicrous situation, I would agree. Lynne, In my view, your posts are always pertinent, interesting and well considered and have helped to raise the general ...
I commend the Teignbridge DC Draft Council Plan to your attention. http://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=29981&p=0 It is not a plan in any meaningful sense of the word, including no measureable actions or timescales, no indications of dependencies, resources or how anything is to be achieved. Its real content can be summarised as: "We are going to make things better." The council ...
@FRONTERAMAN , Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, I can't see it happening. Don

On one more continent the seeds Are mixed with dust and blood as we Forget that we must not forget. The poppies bloom, their beauty fades, Their petals scatter on the ground. In Flanders or in Afghan fields, While poppies weep their latex tears, We plant ...
Interesting thread. I am always intrigued by people who start, "I'm not ....... but," as does PJD and also with SteveJ's comment about pensioners. Should older people be asked to carry ID cards in pubs showing their age? I have neither more nor less problem with gay people kissing in pubs (or in public) than anyone else. @Dave - Magic Ashes series and I have been able to watch on TV in daytime ...
Welcome to the Dawlish forum, guys. Proper job thread hijacking had almost become a thing of the past. Mind you, Andy Mac started it, so let him take it where he will. lol, Don (currently spending Christmas in NZ)
Thanks, Wondering, Another useful page. However, I do like EOD and one of its strengths, to me, is that it is used by people of all ages. Don
I think that EOD fulfils the need and complements Dawlish.com. Both can be, by turns, informative, chatty, interesting and irritating.
Thanks.
