Another nugget to bear in mind when voting in the next local elections.
@1263 -here is the list of Devon County Cllrs who voted against the pay rise. (In accordance with Standing Order 32(4) Councillor’s Asvachin, Bailey, Bradford, Connett, Cox, Dewhirst, Gent, Hodgson, Leaver, Letch, Roome and Wrigley asked that their vote against Minute 34 of the Appointments, Remuneration and Chief Office Conduct Committee (21 July 2022) relating to the proposed salary of the ...
Hands up all those who have heard/had personal experience of, what can only be described as horror stories about, the length of time (hours!) waiting for an ambulance to arrive, only for the patient concerned then having to wait hours in the ambulance to be able to get into the hospital (thus meaning the ambulance is not freed up to attend to someone else) and then having to wait hours to be seen ...
What happened to the promise by Bozo (on his brexit campaign) that there will be lots of money spent on training up thousands of nurses? Pie in the sky as always!!!
This is an old chestnut that gets trotted out every time when they say that they have to pay these inordinate sums to get the best people for the job. Most of the time the people they get are only after the money, not interested in taking any responsibility and are not up to the job anyway.
I don't know who voted for it and who didn't. However, as Devon County Council is Conservative controlled I imagine that most if not all of the Conservative councillors did. Would love to know how the dawlish/Teignbridge councillors on Devon council voted on this one.... Crisis what crisis ...

and then add in the numbers who, whilst on the payroll, are not actually at work due to sickness (stress/Covid etc). And another thing - if some of those vacancies are being filled by temporary agency staff then how much is that costing the NHS?
One thing you can guarantee as the years trundle on is the council taxes will continue to increase and the services decline. Whilst, in my opinion, councillor's wages and benefits will more than likely increase. No different to the m.p's who are professionals at manipulating the truth to get their own way and then doing the complete opposite when they have what they want. Been going on for ...
