Can anyone understand that flights are still coming in from hot spots such as New York, Italy, Spain, France and so on, and of course the channel tunnel still running? I watched the BBC question time last night and the moderator bought up a question sent in by a person about flights still entering the country with no checks except passport control and just walk into the country, this will only ...

Sea Wall Network Rail
12 Mar 2020

I may be wrong so I'm open for correction. Was Network rail supposed to suspend all work on the sea wall and open it to the public?  I'm sure I saw a sign sometime back that stated that. This work is going to take years. Thanks in advance

Sea Wall

Oh, come on Carer I'm all for any workers taking their scheduled breaks. But they're having a laugh at the taxpayer's expense, Network rail that is. But to see one working and twelve just standing and watching, not chatting, in fact, a couple of them sitting by the toilets. I think you are being an alarmest has anyone died in Dawlish due to storms?  I understand something needed to be done and ...

When the rail line collapsed a couple of years ago there was more urgency from the Government to get the line open. This latest project is going to be spun out as long as possible, and with a lot of manpower just standing around which has not gone unnoticed by Dawlish residents. I predict that this project will be going on much much longer than they have stated. I do feel for those of you that ...

Thanks for your agreement on this point and being three months behind at this early stage is really unacceptable.  I was talking to Network rail rep the other day and I told him that some of these workers that have nothing to do for hours should be sent down to the sea wall in front of the station and clear all the sand and silt that builds up on the walkway. Yes, they did it once but no more, he ...

Am I being petty? Yesterday a walk down to Coryton Cove and observed the work being constructed with one operator using his digger with no less than 12 workers leaning on the rail watching. There is not a hope as far as I can see that this project will be finished within the time specified. After talking to one of the workers I asked "what are they trying to achieve" he replied "I have no idea" ...

At last, someone has seen sense which is outlined on the main page. It pretty much spells out the disadvantages of having a playground at that location. Yes, where is the money coming from is a great question? what with proposed plans for the elusive and never-ending debate of a new bandstand. Also proposed a new bridge linking the Lawn to Brunswick Place. In the great scheme of things if money is ...

Air show
1 Jun 2019

Did any of you happen to watch spotlight Friday night about the Air Show being held in Torbay. They reckon 125 thousand people will attend and briing in 7 million pounds into the local community. Torbay had taken over 4 years ago when we lost ours here in Dawlish. What a brilliant day they must have had today.

Hi 1263, I say grateful as we had nothing in the past but a couple of PSCO's with no arrest power,he did walk the beat as it were before having the bike. I think it's better than driving around in the police car/van all day. But I do agree with you that if we are paying more council tax there is a need for another police officer. How it is now the one we have when on an early shift ends at 4pm and ...
