After speaking to one of the workmen involved he told me it's not often they have to cut down perfectly good trees. One wonders if the skate park could have been built on a different ...

Suggest you ask DAY (Dawlish Action for Youth). They are the ones behind all this.

The trees need to be planted because right now planet earth needs more trees not less. They help to lessen the effects of global warming. Thus, if trees are removed others have to be planted in their place. I just wish that: 1. the trees didn't need to be felled in the first place and that 2. if they must be felled then twice their number should be planted as recompense.
