Very sad news that John Adcock died on the 4th of March. He was a lovely man and I am sure he will be sadly missed by many in the Dawlish area.

DJ - the walk between Dawlish Warren and Cockwood is too far twice a day for small children of 4, 5 or 6 years. Hello, I did the same thing as you and moved down here from the big smoke (no regrets!). The best place for bargains is Marsh Barton car boot sale on a Sunday morning which has a good mix of private and business sellers. I think half the furniture in my house came from there! Of course you will find some junk there too, but well worth a peek as some people give stuff away for free at closing time ...

Does anyone know which mobile phone network operates the best service in terms of reception at Dawlish Warren. My current provider is terrible (Virgin) and I know 3 doesn't work very well from personal experience...
