Well that's the east side of Dawlish spoilt forever, next it's the west side. Although we already know that a small number of houses are going to be built at Southdowns, I am puzzled as to why wildlife surveys are being carried out on all the other fields close by. I have a feeling that another proposal for a huge housing estate will soon raise it's ugly head.

Agree with Mcjrpc about the station, how can something so iconic also be a total emabarrassment to our town.

As a responsible dog owner myself and know many other dog owners I would say that the irresponsible ones are in the minority here and that the few are getting a bad name for all dog owners. It doesn't matter how many dog bins or wardens you have, you are never going to stop the lazy dog owners from cleaning up, sorry but it ain't going to happen just like a lot of other things that we all moan ...

Lynne, there are Cirl Buntings all over and around Dawlish. Numbers are growing, but Teignbridge will soon find numbers declining with all the proposals, and to think Teignbridge are governing a scheme alongside the RSPB to maintain habitat and increase numbers of this rare species. They should hang their heads in shame. Care, thanks very much for the info.

BUT if they build too many houses then some will remain empty, so no council tax. The housing numbers given are ridiculous.The houses proposed at Southdowns road are only the start. 3 big fields to fill there, so Holcombe village will soon be part of Dawlish Town.

Sorry Rainbow it was no lie, what Chris Marsh has said is true. So no one has to get out of their nursing homes to get real. What would help is if you could spell english and use grammar so it doesn't take me an hour to understand one of your sentences.

Maybe if you lived on the edge of a field that is about to be built on knowing full well that the value of your property is going to go down the pan because the view and the setting of your home is going to be right next door to these new homes, then maybe you would give a toss.
