Mobiles and driving
2 Mar 2017

Whillst fully suporting the new rules. I hope they will also be applied to the Police as their traffic cars are full of communication equipment, camera's, ANPR systems, etc, and despite their claimed special driver training they are not imune to having and causing accidents and are increasinly single manned which means all this stuff is being operated on the move by the driver.

FROM SOUTHWEST TRUCKERS WEBSITE = CONFIRMED: **6 points and £200 fine for using a mobile whilst driving from 1st March 2017** Advice to keep it simple: - Keep your mobile in a craddle or glove box - You cant touch the phone if its in a craddle, even if you stop at lights and even if your parked up with the engine on ... - If you want to use the sat nav on a mobile or plug the charger in. ...

@monty So your grievence is with the council not the travellers, Romany's etc. The original campers up on Haldon were a mixed bunch of hippies, new age travellers, society drop outs and the odd one or two that couldnt afford to live any other way. Some I know actually did have jobs taxed and insured their vans but as your point fell into the very same catogory as any others that couldnt afford ...

What a dumb ass comment. Its the whole camp that cost 1.2 million not the two new pitches, and there are no properties on there only toilets, showers and re-cycling bins. The travellers also pay their ground rent, electricity,  and council tax and live in their own caravans. So it seems the joke lies elsewhere.  I would call it progress and even a solution to the housing needs of many. Its not the ...

The following FIO request has now been made. Seems the councillor responsible for all this cycle path nonsense is Stuart Huges cabinet member for highway management. DCC and Representing Sidmouth and Sidforth. Wonder if he has actualy ever been to Dawlish. Please provide copies of or reference numbers of all TROs traffic road orders granted by the Governments Department of Transport. Relating ...

@leatash = they dont have a plan, they just keep applying for grants off sustrans in order to destroy the road network arond dawlish. nobody gets a say about cycle paths they have just become a cash cow for local government. at the end of the day its still public money thats being spent and the public should have a say. DCC still havent got over loosing the vote on pedestrianising the Strand ...

Residents of the Warren need to write en-mass to the Department of Transport to object and report the road as now being unfit for purpose and dangerous. If investigation concludes that DCC made the changes without first submitting plans and an application for a TRO then our local council need to take legal action. It is still an offence to obstruct the Queens highway. The offence not only applies ...

Do you think the council should pave this wiberly woobly way with Yellow bricks so it compares with the fantasy world of the Wizard of Oz. Because if they seriously believe that cyclists are the answer to rejuvinating the towns businesses and fortunes then thats the kind of fantasy land they must live in. Would the town manager be the Scarecrow, Lion or Tin man?

Theyll be hoping for a cycle hire shop like the imaginary one they suposedly gave planning consent for at the Warren Toilets. TDC live in some kind of cloud cuckoo land

Well isent this what the cycle path investment is all about . Preventing motorised transport travelling arond and through the town centre. You can bet your life the incompetent, over paid, brainless planners responsible havent a clue how big a coach, lorry or bus actualy is. Perhaps Stagecoach should consider turning buses around at John Nash Drive and Sandy Lane thus avoiding Dawlish centre ...
