Rumour-mongers and doom-sayers do Dawlish no favours whatsoever. Please do not try to make this thread about me, roberta, it's about improving Dawlish. If the Portas 'bid' could have been put in place 12 months ago, I'm positive that the good folks who are making the effort now, would have done so then. In my opinion.

To put neilh's figure into perspective, a single water sprinkler uses approx 1,100 litres of water per hour. Hosepipes would use more.
As you might guess, I'm more than happy to buy my cheaper petrol at Sainsburys, and earn Nectar points at the same time as I do my cheap shopping and do my recycling. Not happy that it's cheaper at other local-ish Sainsbury's (albeit you'd probably spend the savings in getting there and back if you're making a special journey), but that's how business works.
