Interested to see earlier today that some chaps were clearing away sand and stones from the prom that runs between Boat Cove and the Viaduct. Two of the middle-aged chaps were wearing hi-viz vests with "Community Payback" printed across the back. Make of that what you will.

Yes, it's a shame that the new councillors are too young to be retired and therefore were unable to participate in the video that was filmed during the working week!!! So, ShePerez, which one were you in the video?? LOL.

@neilh . i'm pretty sure that there's a fingerpost at the warren end of the lady's mile that directs cyclists along the correct course of the route 2 towards dawlish. that sign at the red rock cafe is ironic given how they never refuse to serve cyclists there lol...

Could this community-led play park be the inspiration for Dawlish? Yes it has cost £500K, but £447K was funded by the Lottery, thanks to a great effort by town residents and businesses. After seeing the number of families enjoying the similar facilities at Teignmouth today, and seeing how much they were spending in local shops(!!), the sooner we get something like this in Dawlish, the better. That's a great promotional video - well done to absolutely everyone involved!! I have a few 'buts' that I could mention, however this is neither the time or the place. Fingers crossed for the positive result that the organisers efforts deserve.
