I completely agree. Children need to get more fresh air and exercise, not less, and this is a comparatively safe place for them to play and to do sport. The traffic, mess and pollution created by a supermarket would destroy this place from that point of view. It would be a hazard to children and ruin a lovely place. We need Sandy Lane to stay as it is for the benefit of future generations as well ...

I did speak to the local council last year but didn't really get very far. Apparantly they had a lot of calls about this park but as there were no funds available the only option was for local people to raise money themselves!!
