Remember to go along and tell them NO, NO. NO.

The supermarket does NOT have to be sited at Sandy Lane. That's where our kids play!!!

Tell them to go and site it somewhere else.

I completely agree. Children need to get more fresh air and exercise, not less, and this is a comparatively safe place for them to play and to do sport. The traffic, mess and pollution created by a supermarket would destroy this place from that point of view. It would be a hazard to children and ruin a lovely place. We need Sandy Lane to stay as it is for the benefit of future generations as well as ours!

Sorry to dissapoint you, but i went along to the Langstone and voted YES, YES,YES for a Tesco. It doesnt matter where its situated in Dawlish it wouldnt satisfy certain residents!!!I have children and none of them ever play there. The only time i see people use it is to cut across or to walk their dogs, so that if and when children want to play on the land there is usually loads of dog mess on it. How dirty is that!!! I would much rather have a clean supermaket there than a load of dog dirt, but no one ever critisises the dog owners do they!

So, just because you and your kids don't use Sandy Lane Recreation Ground you've voted to take it away from those that do. How altruistic. NOT.

I think some people are missing the point here. Nobody's taking the playing fields away, just the football pitch.

It's not just the football pitch that is leased by Dawlish Town AFC. Tesco also want the football pitch behind it as well - that's the one that is used by Dawlish United and is known as the Hockey Pitch. That pitch is not fenced off and is very definitely part of the publicly accessed playing fields.

Before you get on your soapbox lily, the reason my children dont play on the Sandy Lane field, if you read my posting thoroughly, is because its covered in dog poo, not the cleanest of places for kids to play on, maybe if the dog walkers had a little more consideration, maybe i wouldnt have made tis decision.

If you are concerned about the amount of dog poo then do something about it Anon - don't just take the 'easy' way out by letting the open space be built upon.

I,m not really concerned about the dog poo, as i said, we dont go there, i find better and cleaner places for my kids to play.I have more important things to do with my time than, chase up a load of useless council representatives, who do absolutely nothing apart from scatter the odd poo bin around and thinks thats their job done.

Well if you don't go there Anon perhaps you'd just like to shut up and let those of us who do go there carry on with out fight to 1. Keep it from being developed and 2, Improve it. You never know, Anon, you just might end up using it in the future.
