Paul and Burnside ;   Yes, democracy in practice.   But after many decades of bitter bellyaching I thought the 'Leavers' might have scored a real, significant percentage they could be proud of.  Under 4% is ample to mandate our representatives, but a pretty close call after all their efforts.  Who, then, am I to judge? - by marriage I ended up with a French mother-in-law!

Among those who actually voted, 52% said leave, 48% said stay. Democracy - yes.   'Massive' majority - hardly? Triumphalism by the Tory press - 100%    Mention of the (over 16 million) losers - zilche

Can anyone compose a sign banning lycra-clad (but maybe quite intelligent) urban terrorists but allowing the slower, amiable, considerate pedal-pushers?  How on earth could one be enforced?  And is the act all that different to riding along a canal towpath? There were railings on the shore side of the repaired concrete wall last year.  Now they're gone.  Although their remains are visible flush ...

Elsewhere the kiosks have been extensively used to arrange drug transactions/drop-offs without a mobile number being revealed (for tracing by the police).  Seems our locality hasn't raised that demand, as Lynne's usage stats show.

Yes, there is unfortunately the risk of it becoming a rat-run.  But the entire Bovis/Cavanna estate, which is currently only a cul-de-sac , is served virtually entirely by that other rat-run:  Elm Grove Road, with its two schools.  The residents there will breath a mighty sigh of relief when the always-planned alternative access is at last opened. For currenty 'trapped' residents on the ...

Simplify please, for my aged brain!  Do you think that means the Link Road will come into being early? Or just that the right-turn road change into Sandy Lane has been passed?  Maybe the developers will just do their own thing again without interrupion.

Thanks for that Lynne.  You don't imagine a row of bollards then?

As a new resident on the Bovis estate, I missed the September meeting(s) regarding future construction etc. Most of my car trips out, down Elm Grove Road, are to travel east towards Exeter, so the mythical Secmaton Avenue Link Road would be a great boon, particularly at school exit times.  If it is to be maybe six or eight years off (or at all?) will I soon be able to drive from the Bovis ...
