Moved to Dawlish two years ago. Didn't move here to be surrounded by what I had left behind though ie urban sprawl like supermarkets, cars, housing. An awful lot of roads are being dug up or resurfaced, does it not make sense that the disruption occurs at the same time. It is inconvenient for a month but it's a lot more inconvenient for two months, especially when the holiday makers begin to arrive.

I have to say that since I've been living here I have noticed that there does seem to be a bit of a problem with self image and Dawlish. I am forever hearing "chip on the shoulder comments" about the schools, the town centre and the rivalry with Teignmouth etc. Like others I have chosen to live here. Much preferring Dawlish to Teignmouth, Dawlish Community College to Teignmouth Community College. ...

I love Dawlish, I suppose you lot will think I'm weird but there is a great community spirit to the place. Yes people are nosy but all small towns are like that. When the chips are down and you've got a problem it's amazing how many people will help.
